The area around Street and Glastonbury still has many shoe and sheepskin related businesses and once was one of Britain's two major shoe producing areas where companies like Clarks, Morlands and Drapers thrived. Today, Street still has Clarks' headquarters and its European distribution center. One of RTL's directors joined one of the world's biggest shoe brands' graduate scheme back as far as 1980 to then move on to work for German manufacturers marketing collections in the UK and USA to starting an IT business in 1994. Another director has been consulting on IT matters since 1987.
